Tracking scattered storms during the day as humidity makes a return

TODAY: I'm tracking a hot afternoon as temperatures warm into the upper 80s, with dewpoints making it feel closer to the mid-90s for most. Scattered, short-lived storms will be possible throughout the majority of the afternoon, with heavy downpours, lightning, and gusty winds being the main concerns, but there will be plenty of dry time in between these storms. Winds will be out of the southwest at 4-8 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking decaying storm chances for the evening hours before quiet weather overnight. Mostly clear sky conditions can be expected as temperatures drop into the low 70s by the end of the night and winds continue to stay out of the southwest at 5-10 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a lower chance for isolated, short-lived thunderstorms during the afternoon hours of Friday as temperatures get back up into the upper 80s, with dewpoints making it feel like the mid-90s. Sunshine for most can be expected, and this trend will continue throughout the weekend, with only isolated thunderstorms being possible each day. This will help temperatures get back up into the low 90s for Saturday and Sunday, but the warmest day is expected to be Monday as afternoon high temperatures get closer to the mid-90s, feeling near 100 by the peak heating hours of the day. After isolated chances of overnight showers and storms Monday night, a shift in our weather pattern will bring slightly cooler temperatures for the back half of next week.
