Tracking a dangerously hot and humid week ahead

TODAY: I'm tracking a warm, humid start to the day as temperatures begin in the mid-70s and dewpoints sit in the low 70s. Temperatures by the afternoon are expected to get into the low 90s, but the excessive moisture in the air will make it feel like it is in the low 100s across the area. Plenty of sunshine is expected throughout the day as winds blow out of the south at 10-15 mph, gusting up to 25 mph.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking another sticky evening as temperatures gradually drop back down into the mid-70s by the end of the night. Winds will continue to blow out of the south at 5-10 mph, gusting up to 15 mph, as clouds gradually enter the area.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking a rinse and repeat forecast of heat and humidity, making for an uncomfortable and almost dangerous week to be outdoors at times. Each afternoon, mostly sunshine can be expected as temperatures get into the mid-90s, but the humid air will make it feel like it is 100-105+ degrees outdoors, with the most likely chance of feels like temperatures exceeding 105 degrees being Tuesday through Thursday. This is why an ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day will be in effect throughout this period of time. A gradual return of clouds can be expected by the end of the week, but that won't help much in terms of giving Mid-Missouri relief from the heat.
