Tracking scattered showers and mild temperatures this afternoon

THIS AFTERNOON: Scattered showers south of I-70, with mild temperatures in the low 70s. Rain totals will be below a quarter of an inch.

TONIGHT: Rain ends by sunset, and clouds clear quickly overnight. Lows fall to the upper 50s, with patchy fog possible.

EXTENDED: Sunshine is expected on Friday along with warmer temperatures in the mid-80s. That will be the best day to take Dad outside this weekend, as rain chances return on Saturday and Sunday. Scattered rain chances are possible to the south and west on Saturday, but many will stay dry through the evening. Our highest chance of rain this weekend will arrive Saturday night and last through most of Father's Day on Sunday, with widespread showers and storms bringing up to 2 inches of rain. This activity will exit early Monday, allowing sunshine to return, and highs next week remain below average in the upper 70s and low 80s.
