Tracking rain chances and heavy humidity this weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and mild, with lows in the upper 60s. Winds from the southwest will be breezy at 10 to 15 mph.

TOMORROW: Expect dry but muggy conditions in the morning and early afternoon, with a heat index in the low 90s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will move in from the south later in the day and continue through Saturday night.

EXTENDED: More showers and storms are expected on Sunday and Monday, though the heat index remains near 90 degrees in drier spots. Rain totals will reach 1 to 2 inches across the area, with a 2/4 risk of flash flooding on Sunday, when rain chances are highest. Dry but increasingly muggy conditions are likely for the rest of next week, with the heat index soaring to the upper 90s from Tuesday through Friday.
