Tracking cooler weather to start the weekend before a warmup paired with rain chances

TODAY: I'm tracking a mild afternoon as temperatures gradually warm into the low 60s, with winds blowing out of the northwest at 5-10 mph. Light rain showers are possible during the day, but most will stay dry as lots of dry air will be in place when these arrive.

TONIGHT: I'm tracking another dry and mostly clear evening as temperatures drop into the low 40s by the end of the night. Winds will continue to blow out of the northwest at 5-10 mph.

EXTENDED: I'm tracking cooler temperatures persisting throughout Saturday afternoon, with temperatures in Central Missouri warming into the low 60s by the afternoon hours. Sunday will start cool, but by the afternoon hours, temperatures will warm into the low 70s. Throughout the day, there will be an increasing chance of showers across the region. This will start the trend of a warmer and wetter pattern to start next week, as daily chances for showers and storms continue Monday through Tuesday and afternoon temperatures get into the mid to upper 70s. Showers and storms will exit throughout Wednesday, leading to another cooldown to end the week. Storms could potentially be stronger on Tuesday and Wednesday, but details on the strength of these storms will become clearer with time.
