Tracking severe storms through Monday evening, cooler Tuesday

TONIGHT: Strong to severe storms with the potential for damaging winds, large hail, and tornadoes. Storms exit after sunset, with lows falling into the upper 40s.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy with a chance of showers. Highs in the upper 60s to around 70.

EXTENDED: Severe thunderstorms capable of producing very large hail and a few strong tornadoes are possible through sunset, with the highest risk along and south of I-70 where a Tornado Watch is in place until 9:00 p.m. The rest of tonight will be clearing and cooler with lows falling into the 40s by daybreak Tuesday. A disturbance will bring a renewed chance of showers north of the stalled front to our south, but severe weather isn't expected. Most of the week is looking quiet as high pressure begins to settle back in across the region, keeping temperatures near or slightly below average. A disturbance will bring a shot at a few showers and storms on Thursday night, but from there it's smooth sailing into the weekend with clearing skies and highs in the 60s Friday, and low 70s with sunshine by the end of the weekend.
