Tracking a bright and warm Tuesday

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and comfortable with lows in the lower 50s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and mild with gusty winds. Highs in the upper 70s.

EXTENDED: Beautiful weather looks to stick around the next few days as high pressure persists across the region. Lows tonight will not be as cold as we remain in the lower 50s overnight. Strong winds pick up on Tuesday, with southwest gusts up to 25 mph, pushing temperatures into the upper 70s. A front to our north could trigger a few showers and storms across far northern Missouri, but most of Mid-MO stays dry with another mild night ahead. We can expect a few clouds on Wednesday, but generally a pleasant day as highs reach the upper 70s yet again. Thursday will be the warmest and most muggy day of the week as dew points increase and temperatures rise into the low 80s. A strong cold front associated with low pressure across the upper Plains will bring the potential for a line of storms late Thursday night that could bring severe weather to Mid-Missouri. The Storm Prediction Center has western Missouri in a level 2/5 or slight risk of severe storms. The front looks to stall to our south on Friday, giving us a shot at more rain and storms through the weekend, with cooler temperatures in the upper 60s. Rain amounts through the end of the weekend will be between 1-3".
