TONIGHT: Temperatures drop sharply overnight, with lows in the lower 20s. Winds from the north will be breezy, gusting up to 20 mph.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and cool, with highs in the mid-40s. Winds will be calmer, steadily switching out of the southeast throughout the day.
EXTENDED: A possible record-breaking warmup is expected for the week ahead, with highs jumping back to the 50s on Monday, climbing to the low 60s on Tuesday. Wednesday, Christmas Eve, will be nearly 25 degrees above average with a high of 70 degrees. We may reach or break high temperature records on Christmas Day, with a forecast of 72 degrees in Columbia currently. The record high of 74 was set back in 1889. Some clouds will move through the area on Monday and Wednesday, but dry weather is expected overall for holiday travel.
