Tracking sunny and breezy weather midweek

THIS AFTERNOON: Sunny and warm, with highs in the mid-50s. Winds from the southwest will be breezy, gusting up to 20 mph at times.

TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and chilly, with temperatures quickly dropping into the low 40s after sunset. Lows fall to the lower 30s.

EXTENDED: Wednesday is breezy and warm, reaching the mid-50s once again. As a cold front moves through late Wednesday night, a quick round of showers is likely into early Thursday morning. No wintry precipitation is expected, and rain will wrap up shortly after sunrise on Thursday. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is possible in eastern Missouri, but most of us will see less. Winds will be very gusty on Thursday afternoon, reaching up to 35 mph by the end of the day. Temperatures will see-saw over the weekend, in the low 40s on Friday, jumping back to the 50s on Saturday, and then back to the 40s on Sunday.
