Tracking one more brutal night before a big workweek warmup

TONIGHT: Clear and cold with temperatures falling into the lower teens. Wind chills will be near, but above zero, in the single digits.

TOMORROW: Very cold in the morning, warming quickly to the 40s in the afternoon under sunny skies. Winds from the southwest will be gusty, reaching up to 25 mph.

EXTENDED: Southerly winds will bring a big boost in temperatures this week as we climb to the 50s on Tuesday, and upper 50s on Wednesday. A quick round of showers is possible Wednesday night and Thursday morning, bringing a quarter of an inch of rainfall to eastern Missouri. Winds will be strong behind that, possibly gusting above 30 mph by the end of the day Thursday. Temperatures briefly take a hit behind that, falling to the 30s on Friday, but the extended forecast remains near to above average as we approach Christmas.
