Tracking a cloudy and cool end to the week

THIS AFTERNOON: Mostly cloudy and cool, with highs in the low 40s. Winds will be much lighter than yesterday, at 5 to 10 mph from the southwest. A few flurries could fall north of I-70 during the day.

TONIGHT: Clouds linger, and temperatures drop overnight behind a cold front, with lows in the upper 20s.

EXTENDED: Friday is still cloudy, and chillier in the 30s. A quick-moving clipper will bring chances for snow to some on Saturday, mostly in northeastern Missouri. Up to an inch of snow is possible in Macon, Paris, and Vandalia. Trace amounts of snow are possible as far south as Brunswick, Moberly, and Montgomery City. Columbia could see flurries at most, and Jefferson City will likely remain snow-free. An ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day has been issued for Sunday morning for dangerous cold following the snow, with wind chills dropping below zero across the entire area.
