Tracking a few scattered strong storms tomorrow

TONIGHT: A few storms early, with a decaying storm complex moving in by daybreak. Lows in the upper 60s to around 70.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and humid with highs in the mid-80s. Scattered storms developing along a stalled frontal boundary by late afternoon. A few storms could produce brief heavy rain and isolated strong downburst winds.

EXTENDED: A few storms will continue through sunset as we have ample instability to fuel storms along with a moist atmosphere. Storms will be capable of producing brief strong winds and downpours. A complex of storms moving out of Kansas and Nebraska overnight will be decaying by the time it reaches Mid-Missouri by morning, bringing some showers to start the day across northern sections of the area. Tomorrow, a slow moving front will stall right over central Missouri, triggering scattered showers and storms that could produce isolated damaging winds and heavy rain over small areas. Much of Mid-Missouri is in a level 1 out of 5 severe risk Tuesday for that potential. With the front to our south on Wednesday, we get a brief break from the humidity with highs in the mid-80s before winds shift back south to end the week, pushing temperatures back into the upper 80s on Thursday and near 90 on Friday. Heat index values could reach near 100 degrees on Friday before another round of storms moves in from the north as another cold front approaches for the weekend. The weekend will bring scattered storms primarily on Saturday with cooler temperatures in the mid-80s.
