Tracking scattered rain chances this weekend

TODAY: Sunny in the morning, with clouds rolling in before the afternoon. Temperatures will reach the upper 80s to near 90 degrees, with the heat index climbing into the mid-90s. Scattered rain chances increase after 3 PM from west to east, and isolated showers and storms persist late overnight.

TOMORROW: Sunday starts out dry for most, but scattered showers and storms redevelop near and south of I-70 in the afternoon and evening. Temperatures will again hit the upper 80s in areas that stay dry, with mid-80s expected in wetter spots.

EXTENDED: Daily chances for scattered rain and storms are likely throughout next week. A break is possible between Monday and early Tuesday, followed by higher rain chances late Tuesday and Wednesday. Temperatures remain in the mid-80s throughout the forecast, with the heat index rising to the low to mid-90s in the driest areas. Uncertainty increases late next week, but heat and humidity could continue to boost rain chances during the day.
