Tracking low rain chances as fire danger grows this weekend
TODAY: Temperatures will be cooler but still mild in the 50s and low 60s. Clouds will increase by late morning as scattered showers track across southeastern Missouri through the evening. Otherwise, it is still very dry and winds up to 20 mph may also kick up dust that blew in behind recent storms.
TOMORROW: Sunday will be sunny and more seasonal in the low 50s but it will also be dangerously dry. An elevated fire risk is possible as humidity drops in the afternoon and winds from the northwest gust above 20 mph.
EXTENDED: Fire risk could be significant early next week as wind gusts approach 30 mph on Monday and Tuesday. This will send temperatures flying back to the 70s ahead of a chance for rain on Wednesday, which then brings another cooldown to the 50s and 60s.
