TODAY: Starting with record cold in spots, Thursday is an ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Alert Day. Temperatures will only reach the teens at best this afternoon. This will be with light winds from the northwest. We will feel subzero for most of the day.

TONIGHT: Overnight, we once more drop to near zero, with feels like temperatures below zero. Skies are mostly clear, and lights are calm and variable.

EXTENDED: Winds return from the south on Friday, pushing temperatures back into the 20s during the afternoon. Winds remain from the south through the weekend, putting us in the upper 30s Saturday, and near 50 by Sunday afternoon. The real warmth comes next week, with multiple days in the mid-50s for highs, if not near 60, and overnight lows above freezing. The forecast still looks largely dry, save for a small hint at a flurry possible, but not likely, Friday night. Our next active weather looks like a chance for rain between Wednesday and Thursday.
