Tracking a frigid night followed by a mild weekend

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and cold with lows in the upper single digits.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the low to mid-30s.

EXTENDED: Overnight lows fall into the upper single digits to around 10 degrees, with a light breeze giving us a wind chill in the single digits by daybreak. Sunshine and south winds will get us back up into the lower 30s tomorrow with even warmer air on the way for the start of the weekend. A warm front lifts through and we'll see mid-to high level cloud cover on Saturday, but despite the clouds we manage to make it to the low to mid-40s. A cold front moves through on Saturday night, but no precipitation is expected across Mid-MO. Instead, we'll be slightly cooler with highs in the mid-30s to close out the weekend. Next week starts off much more mild with upper southwest winds pushing us into the mid-40s by Monday and flirting with 50 through mid-week. A pattern shift will take shape at the end of next week with precipitation possible between late Thursday and Friday.
