COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Mizzou Athletic Director Laird Veatch announced that the athletic department has 'mutually agreed to part ways' with soccer head coach Stefanie Golan, effective immediately.

Golan and company just wrapped up the 2026 season on Sunday, with a 0-0 draw against LSU, which left the Tigers outside of the 12-team SEC Tournament field. Golan did not make the conference tournament in her six-year run at Mizzou, compiling an overall record of 31-56-15.

"I want to thank Coach Golan for leading our program with dedication and class over the last six years,” Veatch said in a press release. “We appreciate her contributions to Mizzou Soccer and wish her and her family the best moving forward. We will conduct a national search to identify the next leader of our program."

On Sunday, Golan caught up with ABC 17 Sports Director Nathalie Jones, after the loss to LSU.

"We're all really disappointed because that game we did everything but put one in the back of the net. You know, in the last six games of the season have been really strong performances, you know, consistently. And so, you know, I think it's okay for it to hurt because it should, you know, because we were right there," she said. "It was a result away, you know, and it was in our hands. We didn't have to rely on anybody else. You know, when we've been close in the past, it would have been we had to get a result and rely on other on other teams. And so, you know, we're definitely taking steps in the right direction."

The national search for a new soccer coach will begin immediately.
