Tracking one more cold night before warmer temperatures

TODAY: Tuesday will be cold, with lows in the teens, and that's before another cold front! We'll have a front slide through midday, turning winds from the north and keeping highs stuck in the 20s.

TONIGHT: Arctic high pressure will slide in overnight, but if you imagine the map in a zoomed out view, the airmass will be shallow in that it won't extend very far to the south.

EXTENDED: This means it will be short lived as airflow returns to a southerly direction late in the day Wednesday. After starting in the single digits, we'll make a run at 32° by the afternoon. This temperature swing sets in motion a chance at the warmest air we've felt since December. 40s return Thursday afternoon, and we'll have a chance at upper 40s, if not 50°, by Friday afternoon. We'll have sunshine nearly all week, with the best cloud cover coming ahead of a cold front Friday night, which will also bring a chance for showers.
