Tracking patchy morning fog, rain late today

THIS MORNING: Cooler than recent mornings in the 30s with patchy fog possible. Clouds linger through the day after fog dissipates.

TODAY: Cloudy and mild with highs in the low 50s. Rain chances are mostly north of our area during the daytime and will slowly track in this evening.

EXTENDED: Rainfall Monday night mostly favors the northern half of the area before light precip spreads areawide by sunrise on Tuesday. At that point, temperatures may be cold enough to produce a few snow flurries early Tuesday morning, but these will just be a nice sight to see with no accumulations expected. This system pulls in much colder air for the new year as highs tumble to the 30s and more chances of snow are popping up for early January.
