Tracking a wet and foggy travel day

THIS MORNING: Dense fog early with light rain through late morning. Temperatures remain cool in the 40s.

TODAY: Highs warm to the 50s with constant cloud cover. Isolated rain is possible any part of the day.

EXTENDED: Widespread showers pick up early Friday morning and last most of the day. We have a warm weekend ahead as temperatures remain in the mid-50s through Monday, but another storm system will bring changes as we close out 2024 with rain on the way again Monday night into Tuesday morning. Colder air returns on the heels of that system, with highs in the lower 40s on New Year's Eve and upper 30s by New Year's Day.
