Tracking a breezy and sunny weekend

TODAY: Summer-like, with temperatures racing for 90 degrees this afternoon. Expect a steady breeze from the south with gusts up to 25 mph. Winds switch out of the north behind a dry front this evening.

TOMORROW: Milder with highs in the upper 70s. Northerly winds will be noticeably gusty again up to 20 mph.

EXTENDED: Breezy conditions this weekend are a concern for fire danger as vegetation is dry and stressed from drought. It's best to avoid burning and watch flames closely. Highs settle in the lower 70s early next week, much closer to average for this time of year. A gradual warmup will follow as we reach the 80s again next weekend. No rain is forecast through the middle of the month.
