Tracking a hot Wednesday, late week rain and clouds
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild with lows in the upper 50s.
TOMORROW: Hazy with a few clouds, highs in the upper 80s.
EXTENDED: I'm tracking yet another clear night with lows in the upper 50s thanks to light winds out of the southeast. Tomorrow will be our hottest day of the week as we top the upper 80s, but clouds start spreading in tomorrow night ahead of the first outer bands of Francine. The tropical storm is expected to become a hurricane late tonight and make landfall late tomorrow afternoon along the central Louisiana coast as a category 1. The track of low pressure has trended slightly farther east, lessening expected impacts in Mid-Missouri. However, we'll see clouds and a few showers related to that system from Thursday night through Friday, with clouds gradually decreasing on Saturday. Rain amounts will be highest across the Missouri bootheel, with less than 0.5" for the western half of Mid-Missouri. The coolest day will be Friday as highs remain in the mid-70s, but as clouds exit we'll see temperatures rebound back into the low 80s for the rest of the weekend into early next week.
