Tracking a quiet and mild stretch through the weekend

TODAY: Partly Cloudy skies form by this afternoon as a wave passes by to our southwest. Some may see showers and thunderstorms from this wave. The greatest chance for rain will be from Sedalia to the Lake of the Qzarks and west. Temperatures are not as hot today, but still warm, with highs reaching 90, feeling like upper 90s.

TONIGHT: We will slowly cool and lose humidity behind a cold front that is pushing south of mid-Missouri by tonight. This drops lows into the 60s under mostly clear skies overnight.

EXTENDED: A mild and quiet weekend is forecast with generally sunny to partly cloudy skies and highs in the 80s with some humidity as dew points linger in the 60s. Generally, heat index values are not expected to leave the 80s. Quiet weather stretches into next week, where we see rain hold off at least until Wednesday.
