Tracking another day of dangerous heat before a big cool down

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and mild with lows in the lower 70s.

TOMORROW: Hot and humid with highs in the mid-90s. Heat index between 100-105 with clouds building in from north to south.

EXTENDED: We remain in the 70s tonight with highs in the mid-upper 90s tomorrow, and a heat index between 100-105. A Heat Advisory is in effect along Highway 50 and east toward St. Louis from noon through 6PM tomorrow, and that does include Jefferson City. Areas north of I-70 will cool off earlier, with afternoon temperatures in the 80s. As the front slides south, we can expect a few more clouds, but no rain is in the forecast with the frontal passage. Clouds hang on for a bit on Wednesday, keeping temperatures in the lower 80s. The rest of the week is cooler than normal with highs in the low to mid-80s and lows in the lower 60s through the weekend. Rain chances are looking slim, even beyond the weekend.
