Wildfires continue to drive hazy skies over Mid-Missouri

Skies across the region are filled with clouds from scattered storms, and also haze from wildfire smoke originating over northwestern portions of Canada.

Conditions Thursday evening show the western half of the United States coated with lower level smoke.

Friday morning into the rest of the afternoon, starts to see smoke pulling back west allowing for Mid-Missouri to see a decreasing haze throughout the afternoon hours.

Air quality values look to decrease over the region from good to moderate throughout the rest of the afternoon hours. These values are considered acceptable, while regions back towards the west coast see worsening air quality values putting them into the unhealthy level categories.

The worse conditions for air quality values exists into western portions of St. Charles county to the east of Mid-Missouri. The rest of the region sees moderate air quailty conditions thanks to the lower level wildfire smoke.
