Tracking the end of brutal heat, rounds of storms through Wednesday
TONIGHT: Increasing clouds and muggy with storms north, lows in the mid-70s.
TOMORROW: Partly cloudy with scattered showers and storms possible. Highs in the upper 80s to around 90.
EXTENDED: The night remains humid after sundown as lows fall into the mid-70s. Storms to our north will bring clouds overnight, and the associated cold front begins to drop in our direction by tomorrow. We'll have a chance to see rounds of scattered showers and storms, with the best chance late tomorrow night for more of our area. A couple storms could be on the strong side as we have a level 1/5 severe risk, but the main concern would be the potential for localized flash flooding. The guidance is looking more favorable for this to set up along and south of I-70 with a high water content in the atmosphere that will be reinforced by the front and stronger low level winds ramping up tomorrow night. 1-2" is possible in these areas. If we get closed to that 2" end of the range, we could hit our wettest July on record with half the month to go. Showers and storms continue into Wednesday for the southern half of the area depending on how quickly the front slides south. The rest of the week looks awesome with lower humidity and below average temperatures in the lower 80s. Nights will be nice and comfortable too with lows near 60 through the weekend.Â
