Tracking dangerous triple digit heat indices the next two days

TONIGHT: Mostly clear and comfortable with lows in the upper 60s.

TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and unbearably hot with highs in the upper 90s and heat index values as high as 105.

EXTENDED: Dangerous heat and humidity ramp up for the start of the week as upper high pressure builds overhead, allowing temperatures to top out in the upper 90s with feels like temperatures near 105 both Monday and Tuesday. Thankfully, a cold front heading our way on Tuesday night could provide some relief with storms possible, especially north of I-70. Some of these could be on the stronger side with gusty winds. The Storm Prediction Center has Mid-Missouri in a level 1/5 risk for severe weather Tuesday night. The rest of the week is seasonably warm in the 80s, but we could see heat return by Friday into the weekend with storm chances also ramping back up by Friday into Friday night.
