Tracking another near-record warmup this weekend

TODAY: Temperatures will warm sharply today with highs in the low 70s. Skies will be mostly sunny with wind gusts increasing to 20-25 mph.

TOMORROW: Winds ramp up further on Sunday as gusts peak at 30-35 mph. High temperatures could break records in some spots; Columbia's record high is 80 degrees and the forecast matches or exceeds this.

EXTENDED: Monday's record high is also 80 but the forecast falls just short of this in the upper 70s. Storms are possible late Monday into the overnight and no severe activity is expected due to a poor wind regime. The cold front responsible for this will cool temperatures though we're still running 10 degrees above average in the 60s next week.
