Tracking final round of light snow tonight

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with light snow overnight. Lows in the lower 30s and breezy with wind chills in the 20s. Accumulation around 1" or less.

TOMORROW: Snow showers end early, but roads could be slushy in the morning. Highs in the upper 30s.

EXTENDED: Clouds are moving back in ahead of rain and snow showers to our north that will become widespread across Mid-Missouri tonight into tomorrow morning. Precipitation could briefly mix with rain at the onset given temperatures above freezing, but just about all of our area will see light snow through early Friday morning. Accumulation will largely be limited to grassy and elevated surfaces, but roads could be slushy, especially east of Highway 63 where locally up to 1.5" is possible through daybreak. Snow showers come to an end early Friday, but there could be a few flurries through late afternoon for eastern sections of Mid-Missouri, east of Highway 54. Clouds start to break up in the evening allowing temperatures to fall into the upper 20s by Saturday morning. The weekend is quiet with sunshine and low 40s on Saturday and upper 30s on Sunday for New Year's Eve. New Year's Eve night is going to get chilly as lows dip down into the lower 20s. New Year's Day is cold with sunshine and highs in the mid-30s, but the rest of the week is looking quiet and seasonably cool with high temperatures in the lower 40s.
