Tracking another cool day before above average warmth late this week

TODAY: Tuesday will begin sunny, with skies already clearing before sunrise. Temperatures will be chilly to start, in the 30s, but thanks to increasing cloud cover and a breezy north wind, temperatures likely only reach the low 40s.

TONIGHT: Temperatures will plummet overnight, into the 20s as high pressure settles in bringing clear and calm conditions.

EXTENDED: Mostly sunny skies, and an afternoon breeze from the south will help return us to upper 40s by Wednesday afternoon. Southerly flow will increase, boosting highs into the 60s on Thursday under mostly sunny skies. We'll be warm on Friday as well, but rain chances will fill in by the afternoon. These showers will increase in coverage leading into Saturday as we near a center of low pressure by Saturday morning. This will have us mild to start on Saturday, but temperatures may fall through the day, as we will have rain through the day, with cool air filling in on the backside of the low. Exactly when and where the low passes is still not entirely certain, but the general expectation is a cooler and wetter day on Saturday. There is potential for some wintry mix as temperatures continue to cool, but we'll need to wait for more details on timing and track before we can talk precipitation type Saturday night. We'll see temperatures return to normal or just below normal early next week, after a cooler day on Sunday.
