Tracking falling temperatures with a chance of weekend snow

TONGIHT: Overnight lows cool into the upper 20s as winds remain out of the northeast at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 24 mph. Skies become mostly cloudy.

TOMORROW: Friday welcomes cooler highs reach near 40 degrees as skies remain mostly cloudy. Winds switch from the northeast to the east at 8-12 mph with gusts up to 20 mph.

EXTENDED: Saturday, highs reach into the lower 40s with partly cloudy skies throughout much of the day. Late Saturday night, scattered showers begin in western portions of Mid-Missouri closer to Sedalia. As temperatures drop throughout the overnight hours, showers change to a wintry mix and eventually snow. Areas along and north of Jefferson City sees increased probabilities of light snow showers, while areas south sees a rain/ snow mix becoming more likely just rain closer to far portions of Central Missouri. Ground temperatures remain above freezing along for clear roadways with no travel impacts expected. A light dusting remains possible for areas north of Jefferson City on grassy and elevated surfaces that will melt very shortly into Sunday afternoon. Next week sees highs increasing slightly reaching into the mid-40s by the end of the week.
