Tracking last day of dangerous heat with afternoon isolated storms

Today: A Weather Alert Day continues until 8 pm this afternoon due to the heat index climbing into dangerous levels between 105-110 degrees this afternoon widespread across the region. The actual high reaches 98 degrees with spotty afternoon storms possible. These storms remain very hit or miss with brief downpours and some gusty winds possible.

Tonight: Overnight lows cool to the mid-70s as a cold front moves across Mid-Missouri. Skies remain partly cloudy with winds switching out of the northwest at 8-12 mph.

Extended: Saturday sees scattered shower and storm chances similar to this upcoming Sunday. These showers and storms still remain very hit or miss with brief downpours possible through effected areas. Temperatures continue to cool eventually into the upper 70s for the high on Sunday before a dry next week with highs into the lower 80s.
