Tracking intense heat lasting throughout the end of the week
TONIGHT: I'm tracking temperatures getting into the 103-104 range for mid-Missouri, with heat index values getting as high as 110. The majority of mid-Missouri is in a heat advisory with the northwest part of our viewing area in an excessive heat warning, which is why we have a weather alert day lasting until tomorrow night, when the advisories and warnings end.
TOMORROW: Tracking more intense heat, with temperatures slightly lower, but still getting into the 102-103 range, with heat index values as high as 108. This is again why our weather alert day is lasting until tomorrow night. We could see some rain and storm activity lasting throughout the night tomorrow, possibly cooling us down.
EXTENDED: Saturday and Sunday are looking slightly cooler, with temperatures dipping into the mid to high 90s. I'm also tracking storm chances Saturday night into Sunday, that could once again assist in cooling mid-Missouri off. This doesn't last long, because as we get into next week, temperatures are ramping back up into the high 90s, then possibly breaching 100 by mid-week.
