Thursday UV Index and pollen tracker

Skies look to remain partly cloudy Thursday afternoon allowing for a UV Index of 11. A few isolated storms remain possible. Sunburn time can occur in as quickly as 15 minutes without SPF protection of 50 or higher.

Pollen levels remain at medium levels the rest of the week until scattered showers and storms this weekend pull levels back into the low category.

Chance Gotsch

Chance Gotsch grew up just south of St. Louis and moved to Columbia to attend the University of Missouri to pursue a degree in Atmospheric Sciences.

His interest in weather begin as a child when he used to be afraid of storms.

Chance joined the ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team in February 2021. He is currently the weekday noon meteorologist.
