Tracking more chilly conditions with snow on the horizon

TODAY: Another bitterly cold day with temperatures struggling to reach 40 degrees. Winds quiet down but the wind chill will still dwell in the 30s all day.

TOMORROW: Southerly flow returns to the region, boosting highs to the mid-40s. Clouds slowly fill in through the day ahead of low pressure.

EXTENDED: A Weather Alert Day has been issued for Monday night into Tuesday morning as a system containing a wintery mix will track into Mid-Missouri. More details can be found here. Showers will move in by the evening with temperatures still above freezing. However, as temperatures drop, that could lead to freezing on roadways Monday night. Rain transitions to snow early Tuesday as temps fall, which will make the Tuesday commute even more hazardous. Snow totals as of now range from 1-2 inches, with isolated higher amounts from the heaviest snow bands. Snow exits by Tuesday afternoon with more frigid winter-like days ahead.
