ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Team becomes Weather-Ready Ambassador

The ABC17 Stormtrack Weather Team has paired with the National Weather Service to serve as the Weather-Ready Nation ambassador. What does this mean for you, the viewer? This means we will be working with the national weather service to relay information and reports to better serve you the communities of Mid-Missouri. We will be using information from our resources like the ABC Stormtracker out in the roads this winter and next spring to relay information about conditions back and forth.

Next week is officially Winter Weather Preparedness week for Missouri from November 7th-11th, and as part of a Weather-Ready ambassador we will be giving you information looking into the forecast along with tips and tricks to keep you safe when winter weather strikes.

Topics featured will include weather terminology such as the differences between winter weather watches, warnings, and advisories, the breakdowns of ice storms and Ice safety, snow safety, dealing with the extreme cold, and how to have a weather ready plan.
