Tracking fire danger tomorrow, dry weekend ahead
TONIGHT: Mostly clear and breezy, lows in the upper 30s.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and windy, highs in the lower 70s.
EXTENDED: Dangerous fire weather conditions developed across much of the state with wind gusts this afternoon reaching 30-35 mph along with very low dew points. Avoid any outdoor burning again tomorrow as winds are expected to pick up again on Friday. Lows tonight dip down into the upper 30s, but a breeze between 10-15 mph will keep the potential for frost development low. Friday starts off sunny and breezy with highs in the lower 70s, but a weak front moving through by late afternoon will increase clouds and bring a chance for a few showers between late afternoon and mid-evening. Dry air may prevent most rain from hitting the ground. Behind the front, clouds begin to decrease into Saturday, leaving us with morning temperatures in the low 40s. Saturday and Sunday will be comfortable and seasonable with highs in the 60s. A much cooler air mass moves in early next week, bringing us down into the upper 30s by Monday morning. High temperatures only make the 50s early next week, with a hard freeze possible Monday and Tuesday nights as lows dip into the upper 20s. We gradually warm by the end of the week back into the 70s, but little to no rain is expected over the next week to 10 days.
