Tracking another round of storms by early Wednesday morning
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy with another round of storms before sunrise. Lows in the upper 50s to around 60 with gusty south winds.
TOMORROW: Morning showers and storms, exiting before noon. Highs in the upper 60s to around 70 with gusty northwest winds.
EXTENDED: More than half an inch of rain has fallen in Columbia with showers since this morning. We'll have some dry time this evening, but clouds stick around ahead of our next round of storms that arrives early tomorrow morning. Some storms could have isolated gusty winds, but look to be on the weakening side by the time they reach our northwestern counties between about 4:00 and 5:00 a.m.. We'll end up with another 0.1" to 0.25" of rain to make it about an inch for parts of the area through lunch time tomorrow. Rain exits by late morning, leaving us with a cloudy and cool day with highs getting to near 70. Expect gusty winds Wednesday and Thursday, and cooler temperatures Thursday morning with lows falling to the lower 40s. Thursday and Friday are sunnier with highs in the mid-60s. There could be some areas of patchy frost Friday morning with clear skies and lows in the upper 30s. A weak front moving through between Friday night and Saturday could bring more clouds and potentially a few showers early on Saturday, keeping us around 70 for the day. A cooler air mass begins spilling into the region Sunday into next week, dropping us to about 40 by Monday morning. We'll certainly be feeling the fall chill early next week with highs in the 50s, and likely a freeze by Tuesday morning.
