Tracking steadily climbing temperatures the next few days

This Afternoon: Partly cloudy skies with a pop-up storm possible near the I-44 corridor. Heat index in the mid-90s.

Tonight: Temperatures falling to the low 70s. Patchy fog is possible early Friday again in the coolest areas.

Extended: Southerly winds take over on Friday, and with clear skies, this will bump temperatures back into the low 90s area-wide. This pattern continues for the weekend, keeping mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies in the forecast, with highs in the mid-90s. Dewpoints may be greater on Saturday, making it feel like 100-103. By Sunday, dewpoints look to be a few degrees lower, which may help feels like temperatures a hair. Still, the weekend is looking hot until relief comes in the form of another cold front on Monday. Another shot at area wide storms comes Monday along the front. Highs are questionable given the timing of the front, but somewhere near 90 seems reasonable at this point. Cooling is more of a certainty behind the front on Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the 80s on both days.
