Tracking rain chances through the week
TODAY: After a brief stint of rainfall on Sunday, a better chance for rain comes area wide with scattered showers and storms throughout the day. A stationary boundary has storms ongoing near the lake and I-44 this morning. Rain chances will lift to the north through the morning. By this afternoon, a better chance for scattered showers and storms will come north of I-70, but all see rain today. Highs are various from north to south, but center around 80 near Columbia.
TONIGHT: Showers and storms will persist mostly north of I-70 overnight, while temperatures again settle in the upper 60s.
EXTENDED: On Tuesday, the boundary will work back to the north, and rain coverage shrinks a bit, bringing temperatures into the low 90s again. Rain chances linger through the day, but the better chance looks to come in the evening hours as winds in the lower levels of the atmosphere pick up again. Much of our rain chances will be driven by this and other impulses along the boundary. Rain chances will remain off and on as long as this boundary sits overhead. Wednesday through Thursday, we'll keep rain chances in the forecast, with highs lingering in the mid-80s. Friday through the weekend, we're trending drier and cooler as the boundary sinks to the south. Highs carry through Sunday in the 80s. For more on this week's rain, click here.
