Tracking rounds of rain for the holiday weekend

TODAY: Showers and storms likely, becoming less widespread by late afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s.

TOMORROW: Another batch of showers possible early in the day. Warmer with highs climbing to near 90.

EXTENDED: Severe weather chances are low today and tomorrow, but a few storms could produce locally gusty winds and small hail. A spot storm or two will be possible heading into the holiday, but otherwise, it's looking awfully hot with highs in the mid-90s on the fourth with heat indices between 101-104. We'll likely need a Weather Alert Day for heat on Tuesday and Wednesday as heat indices will approach or top 105. The hot pattern sticks around all of next week with limited relief from rain. If we do see any storms, it would likely be with a front influencing development between Wednesday and Friday as it stalls across the area.
