Tracking early morning storms before a hot weekend

TODAY: Rain exiting by midmorning with clouds following. Highs near 90.

TOMORROW: Bright and less humid with highs sticking to the low 90s.

EXTENDED: A slow-moving frontal system is finally pushing out of the region to end the week and will bring a brief respite from the muggy conditions. Humidity eases up this weekend with dewpoints in the low 60s, bringing the heat index closer to the actual air temperature in the low 90s. However, heat and moisture return next week with highs in the upper 90s on Monday, and near 100 on Tuesday. Heat index values will likely get to WAD criteria on Tuesday. By mid-week, the jet stream starts to flatten a bit, allowing disturbances to trigger a chance for storms Wednesday and Thursday.
