Tracking summer-like conditions for Memorial Day

SUNDAY: Partly cloudy and breezy with wind gusts near 25 mph. Highs rise to the upper 80s.

MEMORIAL DAY: Fewer clouds with highs approaching 90. A steady southerly breeze helps knock the heat with gusts near 30 mph.

EXTENDED: Chances for storms return Tuesday as a cold front is set to impact the region in the late afternoon. These storms may potentially become strong to severe, though frontal timing will have large implications for where storms form. Regardless, Mid-MO is soggy through midweek as the front fuels showers and storms on and off until Thursday. This pushes temperatures back to the 70s briefly before we rebound near seasonal averages next weekend.
