Tracking the last of the rain, before a weekend warmup

TODAY: Scattered rain and thunder will remain through the day on Thursday. This wet and gloomy weather keeps temperatures in the 60s this afternoon. Rain will be spotty in nature, so dry time is likely off and on through the day. While some may hear thunder, no severe weather is expected today.

TONIGHT: Showers will persist overnight, until about sunrise. Temperatures stay in the 50s.

EXTENDED: Clouds and a northwest breeze linger into the morning Friday. This keeps temperatures slow to climb. Sunshine has a better chance to break out Friday afternoon, climbing temperatures into the upper 60s and low 70s, depending on how soon we clear. Saturday, kicks off a warming trend with south winds and more sunshine. Still, we may see skies become partly cloudy into the afternoon. Sunshine is on an upward trend Sunday through Tuesday as high pressure builds over the area. This keeps temperatures climbing into the upper 80s, if not 90 by early next week. Chances for storms look to return near the middle of next week.
