Tracking Sunday showers, drier conditions early this week

Today: Widespread showers early; areas southeast of Hwy 54 will see steady chances for rain today along a cold front with a flooding threat across southern Missouri. Highs today are warmer northwest of I-70 behind the front, where temperatures reach the upper 60s.

Tomorrow: Showers clear out just before the morning commute. Cooler and sunny with highs in the low 60s.

Extended: A cold front will settle near the I-44 corridor today, leading to differing conditions across our area. Those to the northwest can expect rain to exit earlier, allowing for more sunshine and a pleasant Sunday. For the southeast, showers will continue to be fueled by the stagnant front until it finally sags southward tonight. Rainfall totals in southern portions of Missouri could reach above 1" today. Conditions finally dry up early this week, allowing temperatures to reach near average. More spring showers are possible heading into the weekend along with warming temps.
