Tracking a warm and windy Tuesday, overnight storms
TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and cool, breezy. Lows in the low 40s.
TOMORROW: Mostly cloudy and windy. Wind gusts between 25-35 mph. Highs in the upper 60s to low 70s.
EXTENDED: We'll see patchy clouds into this evening with temperature remaining above freezing as winds shift back to the southeast. We'll start Tuesday out in the lower 40s with strong wind gusts up to 30 mph. That strong breeze will get us to near 70 by late afternoon as a warm front lifts north. We stay dry with the exception of a shower or two in the afternoon. A cold front working its way in from the west will bring a chance for widespread rain and thunderstorms well after midnight Tuesday through Wednesday morning. The severe weather risk is low, but there could be some wind gusts between 40-50 mph and isolated 1" hail in a few embedded storms through daybreak Wednesday. Depending on the timing of the front, we could hold onto showers and storms through the afternoon, but the better risk for anything stronger on Wednesday will be to our east/southeast. We'll drop from the 60s early Wednesday into the 50s by late afternoon. Thursday morning starts off cloud and cold with temperatures falling into the upper 30s. Highs only reach the mid-40s, but should rebound a bit on Friday into the upper 50s. We'll be tracking another disturbance to our south for the upcoming weekend with rain possible late Friday night into early Saturday. Rain amounts tomorrow will be in the 1-1.5" range, with an additional 0.25" to 0.5" by next weekend. Temperatures look to trend right around average into the first full week of April.
