Tracking the exit of wet weather and gray clouds
TODAY: We are tracking one last round of moisture this morning. This last push will bring showers and even flurries to mid-Missouri before tapering off this afternoon. That's right, most, if not all of today will be dreary. Even after the showers leave us late this afternoon, you can expect overcast skies to remain. Any flurries that make it to the ground today will melt on contact. Temperatures never make it to freezing, and we climb out of the mid-30's, and into the low 40's this afternoon.
TONIGHT: Clouds break up overnight, and clear by daybreak on Friday. Temperatures cool back into the mid-30's by Friday morning.
EXTENDED: Low pressure finally works east on Friday, leaving us with more sunshine and highs in the upper 50's. The weekend is cooler than average, but still pleasant with more sunshine. A big warmup is in store on Monday, as an upper level ridge moves in, turning upper, mid, and even low-level flow more southerly. This punches our temperatures right into the 70's by Tuesday, where we start looking for thunderstorm chances. Our next large low pressure system dives into the Midwest by Monday, and brings us storm chances through early to mid-week.
