Tracking a frigid start to the weekend, spring like warm up ahead
TONIGHT: Mostly clear with lows falling into the upper single digits to low teens. Winds gusting between 15-20 mph, bringing the wind chills down into the low single digits.
TOMORROW: Mostly sunny and chilly with highs in the low 30s.
EXTENDED: Slick spots will still be a concern tonight, especially in parking lots, driveways, and sidewalks as temperatures drop down into the low teens overnight. Winds gust up to 20 mph at times tonight, keeping wind chills in the low single digits tomorrow morning. The weekend starts off cold as temperatures only make the upper 20s to low 30s, but we have plenty of sunshine to make it feel a bit more pleasant to get outside. A warm front slides east overnight into Sunday, bringing us up to near 60 by the afternoon with a nice south breeze. Next week looks much more like spring as we head into a more mild pattern. An area of low pressure moving to our south Monday into Tuesday will bring a chance for a few showers Monday night into Tuesday, but we remain mild in the 60s. The best days of the week will be Wednesday into Thursday with highs getting into the low 70s, but there's a stronger low pressure developing by the end of the week that will slide just south of us, bringing a better chance of measurable rain and perhaps a few rumbles of thunder through Friday. We'll see around 0.5" between that and what we see on Monday. As that passes, temperatures drop into the mid-50s by Friday afternoon.
