Tracking our next winter storm
TONIGHT
Highs will top out in the mid to upper 40’s this afternoon with plenty of sunshine to help get us there. Increasing clouds tonight will help keep things mild tonight, allowing temperatures to bottom out around 30 degrees.
THURSDAY
Snow flakes will start to fly early Thursday, with moisture working in ahead of our next wave. Snow will push into our northwestern most counties first around daybreak. Snow will make progress towards I-70 by mid-morning. Snow will struggle to slide farther south until the afternoon hours. Expect a temperatures to vary widely from the northwest to southeast, with afternoon conditions ranging from 20's to 40's respectively. As the sun sets, the snow will start to push further southeast. Most of us can expect about 1-3” when this system exits Friday morning.
EXTENDED
Temperatures will be stuck in the freezer Friday, even after the snow departs. Highs will only reach the low 30’s, falling into the teens Friday night. We’re left with one more cold day on Saturday with temperatures fighting to get back to the freezing mark before warming into the upper 50’s on Sunday. We’ll hang onto the warm weather into next week, with a slim chance to pick up some showers Monday.
