Tracking another round of storms Sunday evening

Today: Cooler with highs back in the mid-50s. Storms, potentially severe, may fire up near I-44 late afternoon before widespread heavy rain moves into the rest of Mid-MO overnight.

Tomorrow: Lingering flakes early, no accumulation. Temperatures start off in the mid-20s and we're stuck in the upper 30s. Breezes will also keep the wind chill just above freezing.

Extended: A threat for severe storms stretches across southeast Missouri for this afternoon with damaging winds and a few tornadoes possible. The location of a frontal boundary later today will determine exactly where storms form and it will likely end up draped near the I-44 corridor. Low pressure moves overhead along this boundary early tonight to kick off heavy showers and a few (non-severe) storms. Rainfall amounts will reach 1-1.5" by Monday morning. More seasonable conditions are in store early this week with highs climbing back to the 50s. Another system threatens to bring wintry impacts by Thursday and will leave us with chillier temps next weekend.
